The other day, while browsing X, I noticed that the timeline was buzzing with discussions about children’s books and children’s reading ability. I also have an 8-year-old son, so this is a topic that concerns me personally. Suddenly, I remembered a brief conversation I had with the owner of a mobile bookstore the other day, and casually made the following post.
As you can see, it somehow went viral, and I received hundreds of comments and reposts in just one day. Excluding bots, almost all of them were very helpful suggestions like “Here’s a book I recommend,” and even if I only extract comments recommending books, there are over 300 posts.
It seems that the problem I was facing—the lack of a next Zorori toy—is not new at all, and many parents have the same issue. I thought it would be a waste to keep this advice to myself, so I have compiled some information and am sharing it with you all in this article.
1. Aggregation Method
Analysis scope : 307 comments and quoted reposts (211 replies / 96 quoted reposts) attached to the initial tweet between July 19th and July 20th, 2026, at 8:00 am, that were not believed to be bot posts.

After extracting the target comments, we manually remove those that appear to be from bots.
For the remaining 307 entries after exclusion, the text was read through via LLM, and variations in spelling (e.g., “Oshiri Tantei,” “Oshiri Tantei,” “Oshiri Tantei,” etc.) were integrated to create a normalized dictionary of 191 works. A matching method prioritizing longer spellings was used, and the works mentioned in each post were tagged (265 posts had at least one work identified).
Extraction of transition direction: Only posts where connecting expressions indicating reading order, such as “→”, “after”, “next”, or “from to”, appear directly between two recognized work titles were extracted as directional transitions (153 entries). Simple lists (“・A ・B ・C”, etc.) were treated as undirected co-occurrences and were not included in the transitions.

Total number of times an artwork has been tagged: 747
Number of co-occurring pairs: 862
Number of directional transition edges: 153 (of which 40 edges and a total of 61 transitions are “Zorori → ○○”)
**Important Note :** This LLM compilation was done in a hurry before going out, so I haven’t been able to properly check anything other than bot detection and artwork name aliases! I think I’ve missed some transitions (connections between artworks) in particular, so please just consider this a rough summary and check the comments section of the original tweet!
List of mentioned works and ranking by frequency of appearance
The number of mentions of the work title extracted and normalized from the post text (including variations in spelling). Due to the nature of the posts, it includes mentions of Kaiketsu Zorori itself, so Zorori is ranked highest.
Among the contributors, there is a mix of mentions of their children’s reading and their own reading, so it seems that older works rank higher than relatively recent works like “Oshiri Tantei” (Butt Detective). If we were to quantify the demographics of the readers and contributors, such as gender and age, we could probably get a better idea of the trends, but since this is not a formal survey, we decided to just release the data at a level that could be compiled quickly in two hours.

Top 10 most popular books after “Zorori”
This compilation includes only replies and quoted reposts to the original tweet that clearly stated the reading order, such as “I read/recommended XX after Zorori.” The thickness of the book band indicates the number of times it was mentioned. Elmer’s Adventures, Magic Tree House, and Zukkoke Sannin-gumi received many mentions.

Works mentioned at the same time
Looking at the comments, I noticed that certain works were mentioned together with similar works. It seems there’s a kind of evolutionary lineage or phylogenetic tree of reading.
The top 30 works were grouped using community detection (modularity method) based on the relationships between works that were mentioned together two or more times within the same post. A larger circle indicates a higher number of mentions, and bubbles indicate a strongly connected group of works.

(I actually wanted to create a tree structure based on evolutionary lineage, but I ran out of time. I’d like to do some further research on this sometime!)
