My 18-month-old son is truly not shy around strangers.
He’s the complete opposite of me, a shy and introverted person.
When I went to an electronics store to buy an air conditioner,
I went over and gave a high-five to every single store clerk I made eye contact with.
Especially on Sundays.
Days when there are lots of mobile event staff are paradise for my son.
The event staff are holding balloons to try and get the children’s attention.
But my son isn’t interested in balloons.
I simply want to high-five my older brother and sister.
By the way, my son’s special skill is high-fiving. (Regular post)
As soon as I entered the electronics store, I headed straight for the mobile phone event space.
“Give me a break!”
That was the moment my husband and I thought that.
The event staff members crouched down as if to say, “We’ve been waiting for this!” and responded with smiles and high-fives.
And then, as if flowing on—
“You’re lucky, sir and madam! If you switch your mobile carrier now, you can get a good deal on an air conditioner too!”
“Uh… um…”
“I’m sorry, I’m fine…”
For someone as shy as me, even saying just this one sentence takes quite a bit of courage.
For my son, it was a dream come true: high-five time.
For someone as shy as me, this is a time to test my courage in saying no.
